It’s hard to think of myself as “retro” but I guess I am. Just like the toys I remember from my youth. Does anyone remember the Vroooom Motor from Mattel? One of my favorite - and goofy gifts. You strapped the motor to your stingray bicycle, turned the key and VROOOM you had a motorcycle sound effect. Well, more like an old lawn mower. Sort of advanced baseball cards in the spokes to make noise trick. Years later, now a teen with motorcycle engines that were real.. I remember sitting around the dinner table with my family and all of a sudden there was a terrible roaring sound coming from inside a sink cabinet. Scared everyone to their feet. My mother bravely opened the cabinet to investigate and… you guessed it. It was the discarded Vrooom motor that somehow started on its own. I wish I would have kept that and many other toys.
