Why are shopping are the most what women love to do?

I don’t know why, but women are really addicted to shopping, I don’t know about now (financial crisis in US). Women are more likely to spend more what they have (credit cards) only because of their vanities and stuffs.
So why does shopping cures the need of self personality, because after shopping usually a person ( I don’t know about u) feels so happy purchasing things that even don’t need.
What thrill do women get out of shopping?
